Background
This project inspired by a a tragic fire in the ancient village of Wengding（YunNan,China）, marked as a rural cultural heritage. This project addresses a profound dilemma extending beyond reconstruction. With China's rural development often shaped by top-down planning, a critical moment emerges for reflection. Amid urbanization's tide, villages face erosion, demanding a new model for revitalization. The project aims to explore a new universal model of rural development to address the current rural problems.
Problem Statement
The first is to realize the unity of the three industries through modular building design, forming a comprehensive cycle of synergy between the primary, secondary and tertiary industries. The second is to achieve harmony between villagers' production and daily life through careful modular construction and village planning. Finally, a smart village platform is designed as a supporting tool to enable villagers to personalize the modules and become a catalyst for sustainable and customisable rural development.
